Essentially, ESG refers to environmental, social and corporate governance elements that, when taken together, provide a structure to help companies overcome many challenges of business and society.

In this session, panelists explore the implications and impact of ESG on communications and public relations. The panel will focus on the effect ESG investing has on one of PR’s greatest challenges: quantifying our impact on market performance. Since financial analysts at the major investment rating firms value companies on their “ESG score,” our ability to communicate reputation-driving themes openly and transparently is a valuation driver. As such, it’s imperative for communicators to plan, manage and measure reputation generally and ESG specifically to make the connection between public relations and stock market performance.
