Justin Smith is an award-winning social marketer and advertiser with nearly a decade worth of experience developing paid and organic social media strategies for stakeholders in the television, sports and entertainment, events, consumer goods and gaming industries. From general awareness campaigns to live broadcasts, Justin combines his expertise with a data-driven approach to ensure that needs and goals aren’t only met, but exceeded.
Prior to joining Social Driver, Justin honed his skills at various agencies in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area before moving to one of Baltimore’s largest advertising agencies — GKV. Known for their contributions to traditional media and advertising, Justin worked to bring television and out-of-home executions to life in the social space. This work led to Justin winning a Gold Addy for Best Integrated Campaign for his work on Bridgestone Golf’s You’re Back There campaign.
Most recently, Justin served as the Director of Social & Digital Media for Major League Soccer’s D.C. United as well as its home stadium, Audi Field. While with D.C. United Justin oversaw the club’s and stadium’s overall digital strategy with the goal of increasing revenue, driving awareness and elevating both brands, overall. In addition to increasing overall engagement and growing community size across all channels, Justin also oversaw the development and launch of the new Audi Field website — converting it from B2B to B2C.
Over the years Justin has developed a robust portfolio of clients including MSG Networks, National Geographic, CNBC, Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic (currently NBC Sports Washington), the Maryland Lottery, McCormick Spices, Bridgestone Golf, BGE Home, AARP, The NEA Foundation, Campaign Legal Center and much more. In addition to his agency experience, Justin has also applied his craft in-house, serving as the Social Media Strategist for Tough Mudder.
