CMO & GM of Advocacy, FiscalNote
Krystal Putman-Garcia is an accomplished marketing and strategy leader with 20+ years of diversified marketing, branding, and business development experience across both enterprise organizations and startups.
She currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of Advocacy at FiscalNote, where she helps customers and prospects manage policy and global market risk and uncertainty. Over the last couple of years, she has led the transformation of FiscalNote to become one of the top policy and global risk brands – and one of the fastest growing companies in the D.C. area.
In her role, Krystal oversees all aspects of FiscalNote’s marketing, thought leadership, and branding across all brands, including 9 recent business acquisitions. She is responsible for creating awareness, delivering novel insights, driving demand, and building loyalty across FiscalNote’s thousands of customers, prospects, and partners. To date, Krystal quadrupled the size of the marketing team, built a world-class marketing technology stack, and reengineered the company’s lifecycle model and demand generation capabilities.
Krystal also serves as the General Manager of Advocacy, where she develops the vision and strategy for FiscalNote’s portfolio of advocacy products, including VoterVoice, the world’s leading digital advocacy provider. Her team recently announced the launch of VoterVoice Insights, a collection of real-time data that delivers unprecedented intel into advocacy performance. The launch makes FiscalNote the first platform to provide in-app industry benchmarks for advocacy customers.
Before joining FiscalNote, Krystal ran demand generation and product marketing at Advisory Board/EAB. She served as VP of Marketing at Localist, a D.C. area startup, ran marketing for PBS’ education division, and has held a variety of marketing and leadership roles at Discovery Communications, TrustArc, BearingPoint, and CEB.
In both 2021 and 2020, Krystal was recognized as a Star CMO by DCA Live. She serves as a Member, Board of Advisors for Media4Math, Founding Member of Chief DC, and is a Sustainer for the Junior League of Washington D.C. Krystal holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a B.S. from Tulane University.
Outside of work, Krystal juggles an active personal life. She is a doting mom to three small children – 7 year old twins and a four-year old girl. When not working or spending time with her kids, you can find her running, hiking or solving crossword puzzles.
